What others Are Saying
Game Creek Guides welcomes you to Hoonah and Icy Strait Point, our home and the place where some of Southeast Alaska's finest wilderness opportunities can be found.
"Our time with you was the highlight of our dinner table and we heard others talking about the big fish on the dock. Looking back at the entire trip, fishing in Hoonah was the highlight for me. Thank you again for a great time."
We are located about 35 miles Southwest from Juneau, our state capital, and Glacier Bay National Park lies only half that distance to our Northwest. Our ideal location gives us easy accessibility to great adventure sites. Hoonah, situated on the northeast corner of Chichagof Island, is the largest of several communities on the Island but, it nonetheless remains only somewhat separated from the tremendous wilds that surround it.
"Our family just couldn't believe that Jason caught a 65 lb. halibut on the first try..."
Whether you are on an Alaskan cruise or traveling independently, we can accommodate your schedule. Our summer season is from May through September and involves boat or road-based sightseeing tours and brown bear viewing, freshwater spin or fly fishing, saltwater fishing for halibut or salmon, as well as the best humpback whale watching trips you will find anywhere.
From Brown Bear to Bald Eagles, Sitka Blacktail Deer to Ducks and Geese, the area teems with wildlife. And then there are the fish: Halibut, five species of Pacific Salmon, Cutthroat and Steelhead Trout, Dolly Varden and numerous of the lesser species of saltwater fish make this a sportsmans paradise. Humpback whales are abundant for the viewing as are Stellar Sea Lions, Harbor Seals, Sea Otters, Porpoises, Orcas, and a few other occasional marine critters.
"Thank you for the wonderful time I had on your boat fishing for Halibut. I wanted you to know you are a great guide and I have recommended your fishing service to quite a few people..."
